Track points

The total recorded points do no affect to the total Km covered, but they do to the accumulated rised/descended meters.

If there are recorded few points per Km, we will have poor information, so that the total accumulated meters will be less than the real one. If we have so much points, then we will have so much information  and we will have so much accumulated mistakes, so that the accumulated meters will be more than the real ones.

After analyzing more than 150.000 tracks, the points per km average is 25 for mountain tracks and 15 for road tracks. The analysis reliability and so IBP value, will be bigger when the points per Km values, before mentioned, are nearer.

The "slope corrector" IBP system tool correct the tracks that have so much points ( look at slope corrector).

Normally, the newest GPS configuration adapts to those values. If your GPS records very different values, try to change the capture points configuration.
